What is GibirNegari?
GibirNegari is an all-in-one business management platform for Ethiopian businesses. It handles accounting, sales & purchases, HR & payroll, tax filing (VAT, WHT, Income Tax, Pension), and integrates with eTax and TASS portals. Think of it as your complete back-office system in one place.

Do I need accounting knowledge to use GibirNegari?
Basic knowledge helps, but it's not required. GibirNegari automates most accounting tasks (journal entries, tax calculations, financial statements). For daily operations (entering sales and purchases), you just need to know your business transactions. The system handles the complex accounting behind the scenes.
Is GibirNegari cloud-based or installed software?
GibirNegari is 100% cloud-based (SaaS). You access it through your web browser—no installation needed. This means you can work from anywhere with internet, and your data is automatically backed up.
Pricing & Plans
Is there a free plan?
Yes! The Free plan includes up to 10 receipts/month, 5 automation runs, and basic features. It's perfect for exploring the platform or very small businesses. No credit card required to start.
What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
On paid plans (Starter, Basic, Professional), when you use all included receipt scans for the month, you can purchase prepaid extra scans before uploading more. Choose how many extras you need, pay via AddisPay, and they are added to your limit for the current calendar month (unused extras do not roll over). Extra scan pricing includes a 20% pay-per-use discount on all paid plans. Free plan users must upgrade to continue scanning beyond the free allowance.
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes. You can upgrade anytime (takes effect immediately). You can also downgrade, but the change takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. No cancellation fees.
What payment methods do you accept?
We use AddisPay for secure payments. Accepted methods:
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are processed on a case-by-case basis for significant service interruptions. We don't offer refunds for partial months. You can cancel anytime, and your subscription remains active until the end of the billing cycle.
Features & Capabilities
Does GibirNegari support Ethiopian calendar?
Yes! You can work in either Ethiopian or Gregorian calendar throughout the system. Switch between them in Settings → Preferences.
Can I import data from Excel or another system?
Yes. You can import transactions via CSV/Excel upload. We also offer migration assistance for Enterprise customers moving from other accounting systems. Contact sales for details.
Does it integrate with banks for automatic transaction import?
Not yet, but it's on our roadmap. Currently, you manually enter or import transactions. Bank integration is planned for 2026.
Can multiple users access the same account?
Today, each company registers one GibirNegari account tied to its TIN. Multi-user team access with role-based permissions is on our roadmap. Enterprise customers can contact us for custom arrangements.
What reports can I generate?
GibirNegari generates all standard financial reports:

- •Fixed asset schedules and depreciation reports
All reports can be exported to PDF, Excel, or CSV.
Tax & Compliance
Does GibirNegari file taxes automatically?
Yes, on paid plans. You connect your eTax portal credentials, and GibirNegari can submit VAT, WHT, Income Tax, and Pension declarations directly to ERCA. You review the filing before submission—it's not fully automatic without your approval.
Is my eTax password safe?
Yes. Your eTax credentials are encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption and stored securely. We only use them to automate filing on your behalf. You can revoke access anytime.
What is TASS verification?
TASS (Tax Administration System Software) is ERCA's system for verifying purchase receipts. GibirNegari can check if a supplier's receipt is registered with ERCA, helping you avoid fake receipts and ensure VAT deductibility.
Does GibirNegari guarantee tax compliance?
GibirNegari automates calculations and filing based on Ethiopian tax law, but ultimate responsibility for accuracy lies with you (the taxpayer). Our AI Auditor helps catch errors, but you should review filings before submission. We recommend consulting a tax professional for complex situations.
What if ERCA audits my business?
GibirNegari maintains a complete audit trail of all transactions and filings. You can export audit-ready reports (transaction registers, financial statements, tax returns) at any time. The AI Auditor also proactively flags potential compliance issues before ERCA finds them.
Data & Security
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use enterprise-grade security:

Who can see my data?
Your business data is accessible only through your authenticated account. GibirNegari staff do not routinely access customer data. What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your data remains accessible while your account is active. If you cancel a paid plan, access continues through the end of your billing period. You can export your data at any time using available export features. After account termination, data retention follows our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export all your data (transactions, reports, financial statements) to Excel/CSV at any time. You own your data—we never lock you in.

What browsers are supported?
GibirNegari works best on modern browsers:

Internet Explorer is not supported.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet, but the web interface is mobile-responsive. You can access GibirNegari from your phone or tablet browser. Native mobile apps (iOS/Android) are planned for late 2026.
Does GibirNegari have an API?
Yes, for Enterprise customers. The API allows you to integrate GibirNegari with your existing ERP, CRM, or e-commerce systems. Contact sales for API documentation and access.
